When To Use Your Spy Tools

Also, don't forget to use your cell phone to dial up your target just to call on how or what they are doing. If they tell you what restaurant they are at and with whom, maybe all is well. If they do lie about where they are or with whom, they are busted, because you are watching!
If it is a surveillance that requires you to tail your target on foot, if they know you very well it becomes very difficult. If you are tailing them and your target burns you there will be some serious explaining to do. You will, of course, be accused of spying on them and will have to come up with an excuse for being there. You're on your own for that one!!
Now, I can tell you that if you are supposed to be busy somewhere else, your target definately will not be looking for you. You could wear a shirt or coat or jacket and hat that they have not seen you wear before. Put on your sunglasses and  stay in crowds of people as much as you can. Keep a good distance behind your target and don't panic if they stop and look around. Simply casually pause, bend over to tie a shoe or walk into a store front close by. Your action at that point would be not to be seen or be identified and to look as normal as possible. Obviously, the best situation here would be for a very good friend to be a tail instead of you. Most good, turstworthy friends would think it would be fun to do this for you.
Last but not least is the electronic surveillance. Once you have learned this technique you're about as well prepared as you can be without going to a proper spy school.  For an electronic surveillance there are two very basic devices that are easily purchased and used. The hard part is deciding where to use them and how to hide them where they will be effective.
The first device is an RF transmitter. It is battery powered and transmits to an FM radio. The range will only be a couple of hundred feet, but that should be enough.
The second device would be a micro voice recorder, digital is best, but tape recorders work as well. The recorder should have voice activationor VOX so it comes on only when someone is talking.
There is a third device, but it is a bit more expensive. This device would be a wireless transmitting camera system or a camera with a built in digital video recorder.  DVR camera systems can be the size of a pack of gum or even disguised as an ink pen. Some of these devices record sound as well.
Once you have decided where you need to place the device, you must hide it where it will be able to record your target without being discovered. Usually positioning devices, both sound recorders and cameras, about eye level is the best to avoid discovery. This is going to depend on what is in the room that you plan to watch.
Hidden in a plant, behind a photograph that is up high, a bookshelf behind a book is good.  Sometimes a briefcase can be set up with a small hole in it that will allow sound to be recorded as well as a camera to see through. Let your imagination go into overdrive on this one. The next difficult thing you will have to deal with is recovering your devices, also without getting caught. Please do me a favor and don't burglarize a business, office or home.
