Now That You Know What To Do

In this section we will attempt to do as the title claims. Hopefully, we'll impart to you the most commonly used, most basic techniques of surveillance. This is by no means an absolute, technical textbook of the subject matter. There are many more techniques used and far more sophisticated methods available to those whose business is surveillance.
If you are interested in that type of surveillance, I suggest you submit an application to the FBI or the CIA they are both in the Washington phone book. If you are an average citizen who is worried that their spouse is cheating on them or that your child might be getting into trouble then this booklet is for you.
I want to caution you, once again, that some of the techniques discussed here might be illegal where you are, so please check the laws and govern yourself accordingly.
The plan for this section is to explore the three basic types of surveillance, as I see them. First will be the stationary or stakeout surveillance, then mobile. Mobile surveillance will have both foot and vehicle tailing techniques. We will touch on the use of a helper, but for the most part the discussion will be oriented toward you doing the surveillance yourself. The last aspect of our surveillance techniques will be the electronic devices we can use to gather information.
The purpose of surveillance, in general, is to gather information. This information will, in turn, be used to safeguard ourselves or those we care about.
If it's a wandering spouse that we're looking at, then we are going to protect ourselves. The protection from a wandering spouse takes two forms in this day and age, mental and physical. Mental goes without saying, given the stress that an affair puts on a relationship, but physical health is at risk here as well. Should the person your spouse is consorting with be carrying a disease, well, the consequences could be deadly for the innocent party.
Surveillance in the work place can be a protective measure as well.  As a business owner and employer, the safety and survival of your livelihood could be at risk from dangerous behavior or theft. You can use surveillance with a clear conscience.
As much guilt as any teenaged child would try to pile onto you, the parent, caught prying or spying into their personal lives, I feel that any measure, technique or device used to save a child is worth the risk.
